I am embarking on this adventure to learn how to make beautiful cakes. Cakes of all kinds, plain old sheet cakes, layered cakes, multi tier cakes, cup cakes, "topsy turvy" cakes and the ultimate test, the main reason for beginner my adventure....the Wilton Princess Cake. My daughter, Elizabeth has requested that for her 4th birthday we have a "Princess" theme birthday party. Her birthday is not until the end of October but being the ultimate planner that I am, I decided to start doing some of the research now. The first thing I decided to look into was her cake. We need it to top her 3rd birthday's cake which was an awesome Sponge Bob cake, my very first adventure with making that type of cake as opposed to buying it.
Here is the cake from her 3rd birthday party, which was a "Sponge Bob" theme birthday party.
After finding a couple different designs of castle cakes, I showed them to Elizabeth to see which one she liked. Of course she just HAD to pick the one that looked the hardest to make! Here is the one she picked.
Being that I have about ZERO experience in cake making it is going to be an interesting adventure to work my way up to being able to make this for her. I have until the end of October, in the mean time I will need to research all the in's and out's of cake making to make the best possible cake for her birthday!
